I hope you like this short video that features dogs who look uncannily like their owners - I keep looking at pictures of Zoe and me to see if there is any resemblance, but I don' think that there is!

How To Restrain a Dog

I had to take Zoe to the vet this week - she needed to have her stitches removed after her spay operation.
When the vet asked me to restrain Zoe whilst she removed the stitches I naively thought it would be quite a straightforward task because she's usually pretty good at standing still to be examined.
However she wriggled about on the table and started kicking out with her legs and I just couldn't keep her still. She was giving quite a performance until the veterinary nurse came in and effectively pinned her to the table for the minute or so it took to remove the stitches!
There are many occasions when you may need to restrain your dog - at the vet, examining your dog for an injury, applying medication - and knowing how to do it effectively will be less stressful for your dog and reduces the risk of the person examining your dog being nipped.
I found the following video on restraining a dog; it's a training video for veterinary nurses and it shows you a number ways to restrain your dog, including the lateral recumbent position that I have yet to master!
I hope you find this video a useful resource; it runs for 4m56s.

Labrador Puppies Having Fun

This puppy video shows two Labradors, Ben and Tegan playing together. It reminds me of when Fritz and Zoe have chews - Fritz just gets on and eats his whilst Zoe always keeps an eye on Fritz to see if she can spot an opportunity to snaffle his chew!
Enjoy the video, it runs for 2m35s.
