FDA Says Puppy Prozac Adverts Misleading

sad-newfoundland-dog Eli Lilly has got into trouble with the Food and Drugs Administration Agency over advertisements for its Puppy Prozac drug , which is prescribed for the treatment of separation anxiety.

Reconcile contains fluoxetine hydrochloride, an ingredient in the anti-depressant Prozac, hence the name Puppy Prozac.

How to Stop Your Dog Digging up the Flower Beds

dog-diggingDigging comes naturally to every dog, and some dog breeds excel at it - Terriers are renowned diggers and Schnauzers are pretty good at it too.

What I've found is that you can't stop a natural behavior, and you are setting yourself up for failure and a great deal of frustration if you try.

If your dog is digging up the flowers, the best thing you can do is redirect his digging somewhere else - to his very own [tag]digging pit[/tag].

A good sized digging pit is 6 feet by 3 feet and up to 2 feet deep; you can make it smaller if you are short of space.

Medication for Separation Anxiety in Dogs

The medicine is called Reconcile and uses the same compound as the human anti-depressant Prozac. The medicine will be easy to administer - it comes as a beef-flavored chewable tablet.
