SuiteDigs - A Crate Alternative?

Posted by Clare Bristow

suite-digsWanting something better than a [tag]crate[/tag] to contain his puppy whilst he's at work, Thom Jackson has developed SuiteDigs - stackable rectangular modules, or 'apartment suites', that provide your dog with a home within your home.

The modules can be connected horizontally or stacked vertically, with your dog moving between modules via a staircase, and each module can be designated as a room for eating, sleeping or eliminating.

suitedigsThe modules can be fitted with web cams and automatic treat dispensers (which you control via your computer) so you can keep an eye on your dog during the day and watch as you feed him treats from the treat dispenser. Thom plans on fitting two way voice and radio to the apartment suites in due course.

I can see the attraction of the product for owners who are away at work all day, but will people see it as an excuse to return home later than usual thinking that talking to their dog through a web cam is providing the human company and interaction their dog needs?
